Steps to Save RC

IMPORTANT NOTE: There is no direct Download button on the Parivahan website for security reasons. So you have to save the RC file as a PDF.

Print RC | How to print RC

Print RC means printing your vehicle RC particulars after downloading from the VAHAN Parivahan website. Once you have downloaded the RC particular, you can easily print the RC physical PVC card.

Printing RC is helpful when you want a hard copy (card type) of the registration certificate for basic verification or personal use.

Steps to Print RC Card

Download the RC PDF file from the Parivahan. If you don’t have RC, follow these steps
Save the RC file on your phone or computer. If you don’t know how to save RC, follow these steps
Open the PDF using any PDF viewer. (Example : Drive PDF viewer)
Ensure all RC details are correct, clear and readable. (Example: confirm QR code working)
If you have a printer and PVC material. Use A4 paper settings and select “Actual Size” (do not use “Fit to Page”). To maintain the correct RC card size : 3.375 x 2.125 inches, and print.(or)
If you want a durable plastic RC card for easy to carry in a wallet. You can take the downloaded RC PDF to a nearby print shop / computer centre that offers PVC RC card printing.

mParivahan RC Generating Process Step by Step

Open your Google Play Store and search “NextGen mParivahan” and download (avoid sponsored app). After installation, click the open and then the sign up button.
Create a new account with the following details in order : select state, full RC owner name, mobile number, set your own 6-digit MPIN, confirm MPIN, email ID, and click submit key
You will receive an OTP on your mobile. Enter the OTP to verify and sign in with your mobile number and MPIN
After signing in, click “My Virtual RC” on the box below the left side box.
Enter full registration number, last 5 digits of chassis and Engine / Motor number and click “Add My Vehicle(s)”

IMPORTANT NOTE: Chassis and Engine Number do not mean just a number, they also include alphanumerics and symbols (example: MB123*). If you have an electric vehicle, enter the last 5 digits of the Motor number instead of the Engine number. Otherwise, enter the Chassis and Engine number only.

You will get OTP from RC registered Mobile Number. Complete OTP verification and click submit.

Duplicate RC Online: Apply, Download & Complete Guide (2026)

If your original physical smart card RC is stolen / lost, or damaged, an online RC is not enough in most cases. You must need a duplicate RC for important RTO purposes like vehicle sales, vehicle name transfer, or renewal, or even to exchange your vehicle at the showroom.

Details You Have to Know Before Applying for a Duplicate RC on the Parivahan

You need at least an RC xerox copy/ RC photocopy or a Digilocker RC PDF / PARIVAHAN online RC for filling details in a duplicate RC on the application. If you don’t have any of the above, kindly visit your RTO office for an offline application
You can’t get a duplicate RC without an RTO-registered mobile number OTP. If you don’t have a registered mobile number, first complete the number update process with the vehicle owner’s Aadhaar details and the Aadhaar-linked mobile number OTP click on the step-by-step process
Duplicate RC Not free, you must pay the duplicate RC fees online (fees vary by state and vehicle class). And also, if the original RC has expired, you have to pay renewal charges also

How to Apply for a Duplicate RC Online | How to Get Duplicate RC Without Police Complaint

Go to the direct vehicle-related official website page: Official link.
Click the “Select State Name” button, then choose your state name (example: Tamil Nadu)
You will enter on your Official State Transport Department Page. “Close” mobile update process pop-up window.
By default, the “ENTER REGISTRATION NUMBER” option is locked. You can click the “SELECT RTO” option only, but you can’t select your local RTO in the list of RTOs (auto refresh Error). Click the first heading of “Vehicle Registration No”
The ENTER REGISTRATION NUMBER column will be open now. You can enter the RC number, read the Privacy Policy and Terms of Service, click the “Proceed” button on the same page, and a pop-up window will appear to go to your vehicle-specific RTO page
You can see the online services list. Choose “Application for Duplicate RC” (this page font will be stylish, choose carefully)
You can see the page with the heading of “Online Application(Duplicate Certificate RC)”, RC number automatically filled from the previous page. Type the last 5 digits of the chassis number only and click “VERIFY DETAILS”

You can see your vehicle insurance status with complete details and Require fees for “Issue of Duplicate RC” and “RC Smart Card” below. Click “Save as Draft” (Basically Two Wheeler Duplicate RC: 150 Rupees, for Four Wheeler: 300 Rupees and Smart Card Fee 200 extra.)
You will get the application number. Save that number for future reference. Then click “OK” in the pop-up window.
Click the “Pay Now” option, ensure the information you entered is correct, and give a tick mark. (You will navigate to the payment gateway page)
Select payment gateway and read T&C, then continue
Choose any one payment option from the list: Credit Card, Debit Card, Net Banking, UPI, WhatsApp payment. Then “Pay the Duplicate RC fee online” and don’t back out or close that payment complete page. (We recommend UPI Payment for an easy process)
Check previous page window.
You can see 4 steps to click on the page screen. Click one by one and follow the instructions.

“Print CMV form 26”. Just print, give the vehicle owner’s signature only and scan the form. (All other details will be automatically filled in by the information you gave on the previous page.)
“Print Receipt”. Click print and choose the Save as a PDF option for your E-fee Receipt. (Duplicate RC application Payment Complete Receipt)
“Upload Document option”. Read the Disclaimer and Press Terms and Conditions, then first upload the vehicle owner’s passport-size photo, then secondary upload Form 26, which you have already scanned with the owner’s signature.
